Sally Young is a visual artist who has exhibited her work in many group shows with several solo shows in Detroit and New York.  In Spring 2025, her work will be shown with the “Women Artists of the Rivington School,” at Mémoire de l’Avenir gallery in Paris. Sally was born in Detroit in 1954. She has lived in New York City since 1980, mapping rooftops, water towers, and fire escapes in her paintings, blending history, memories, and dreams.  She has also been a community gardener for over forty years at the 6 & B Garden in the East Village.   Sally Young and Miranda Maher were the art editors for the original Long News: In the Short Century.
